Wholesale Supplier to Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man – UK Trade Stock for Island Retailers

Rysons is a Manchester-based wholesale supplier delivering to the UK offshore islands in 3–5 working days. We supply island shops, discount stores, market traders, online sellers, charities and schools with pound lines, household goods, toys, stationery, party and seasonal ranges and clearance stock — the fast-moving general merchandise island retail runs on.

Island retailers buy differently from mainland ones. Local wholesale choice is narrow, freight is the variable that decides whether a line is worth stocking, and a delivery that misses a season cannot be rescued with a quick top-up. That is why the terms below are set out in full rather than left to the checkout.

Delivery to the offshore islands at a glance

  • Lead time: 3–5 working days
  • Free delivery: on orders over £1,000 ex VAT
  • Minimum order value: £250 net + VAT
  • Shipping cost: calculated at the checkout stage
  • Carrier: On Demand Warehousing, the same network used for UK mainland deliveries

The free-delivery threshold for offshore islands is £1,000 ex VAT, against £500 on the UK mainland. Sea legs cost more than road legs and we would rather show you the real number than surprise you at the checkout. If you are ordering below it, consolidating two months of stock into one delivery is almost always cheaper than two separate ones.

Jersey

Jersey retailers order on the offshore island terms above: 3–5 working days from Manchester, free over £1,000 ex VAT, £250 minimum order. Jersey sits outside the UK VAT area, so VAT treatment on your order is not the same as a mainland one — confirm how it will be applied with customer services before you place it.

Guernsey, Alderney and Sark

The same offshore island terms apply across the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Guernsey is also outside the UK VAT area; again, check the VAT position with us before ordering rather than assuming it matches the mainland.

Isle of Man

Isle of Man retailers order on the same 3–5 working day offshore terms. Unlike the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man is inside the UK VAT area, so VAT is handled as it is for a mainland order.

Scottish islands and the Highlands

Orkney, Shetland, the Outer Hebrides, Skye, Islay, Arran and the Scottish Highlands are served on the same published offshore tier — 3–5 working days, free over £1,000 ex VAT, £250 minimum. The Isles of Scilly are covered by the same terms.

How the pallets work

All orders are palletised, shrink wrapped and covered on top so stock arrives in saleable condition after a sea crossing. Because item weights vary enormously across a mixed wholesale order, pallet quantity is worked out at one pallet per £500 net of VAT, and delivery is charged per pallet.

Goods are delivered on trucks, so your delivery address needs enough access for the driver to stop safely and legally. Drivers do not decant pallets — you will need your own equipment to take goods into your premises — and deliveries must be signed for by an adult aged 18 or over. Delivery slots are between 10:00 and 17:00, Monday to Friday.

Collect from Manchester

If you already run your own freight to the islands, or you use a groupage service, choose Customer to Collect / Arrange Collection at the basket stage and collect free of charge from our Manchester warehouse, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm. Orders placed before 12pm can usually be collected the next working day.
